Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy

The primary goal of OMT is to correct improper oral functions, including mouth breathing, and chewing, while promoting consistent nasal breathing and proper oral posture. This is achieved through a series of simple, non-painful exercises designed to strengthen and coordinate the muscles of the orofacial complex.

The face and oral cavity are made up of a complex interconnected network of muscles that must work together harmoniously to function correctly. Dysfunction in this system can arise from various factors, including nasal obstruction, harmful oral habits, restricted oral tissues (e.g., tongue tie), or birth trauma. Essentially, OMT helps retrain the muscles in your mouth and face to perform their roles effectively.
